Enhancing the visibility and usability of your research outputs is essential to increasing their scientific impact. Publishing your data and code openly not only strengthens transparency and trust but also supports a more connected research community, leading to greater recognition, reuse, and citation of your work.

Lib4RI recommendation: Researchers should:

• Create proper documentation for your data and code.
• Publish your data as openly as possible and follow FAIR principles.
• Store your data in open file formats.
• Publish datasets and software with a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) to enable proper citation and long-term accessibility.
• Follow reproducible coding practices and publish your code in a code repository, when possible.
• Ensure data are linked to the associated publication and the code used for analysis, and vice versa.
• Choose as permissible license as possible for your data and code so it can be reused by others.
• Consider an interactive format—such as Quarto reports, Jupyter notebooks, or web applications built with Streamlit or Shiny—to enable others to explore your work dynamically, improving reproducibility and encouraging collaboration.
• Seek tailored advice—project needs vary, and optimal solutions may depend on your field, software stack, or data type.
