Publication process

Once you have successfully gone through the review process, your article will hopefully be accepted for publication after some minor or major revisions. What do you need to do next?

Publication process

  • Once your paper is accepted, you will receive the editorial proofs of your manuscript. This is your paper formatted to the journal specifications. This is the last change for making easy changes to the manuscript. Take your time!

If the editorial office does not provide you enough time for a thorough review, ask for an extension.

  • Rejection happens to us all. It generally means your article was considered not a good fit for the journal. This is a great opportunity to think about the purpose and target audience of the paper, find a journal that fits that criteria, edit the paper, as needed, and resubmit.

  • You want to make sure that everyone interested in your work has access to it. If your article is published under a CC license, it is already Open Access and everybody can access your published manuscript.

If not, send us the accepted version of your manuscript (by email to @email). We will host it on our institutional repository DORA where it will be available to everyone (after an embargo period) and ensure that your work receives the attention it deserves.

  • Once your paper comes out, you can begin to consider how to help increase the impact of your work by sharing it. Check out our webpage on increase your visibility to learn more.
