Stephanie Hofmann & Bobby Neuhold

The first sessions of our introductory course «Searching & Managing Scientific Information» are well on their way.

We are pleased about the lively interest in our autumn training series, with more than 150 registrations so far, and take this opportunity to say thank you.

At the same time, we would also like to invite you to join some of the remaining sessions that are still available for registration.

Please note that due to the high demand in our Endnote courses, we are offering additional sessions for the corresponding modules 3 & 4 on Thu, 12 Nov 2015.

The course is split into four individually bookable modules.

In module 1, «Searching Scientific Information», you become skilled in finding relevant scientific information using suitable tools offered by Lib4RI.

In module 2, «The Publication Process», you get to know the principles of the publication process incl. Open Access, learn how to deal with copyright questions and become acquainted with typical measures for scientific research evaluation.

In module 3, «Literature Management», you get introduced to scientific literature management. Optional sessions are offered for Endnote (MS Word) and new also for Zotero / JabRef (LaTeX).

In the new module 4, «Complementary Exercises», you have the opportunity to consolidate your knowledge acquired in modules 1, 2 & 3 by hands-on exercises. Again, optional sessions are offered for users of Endnote (with MS Word) or Zotero & JabRef (with LaTeX).

Sessions are open to all members of the 4 research institutes, PhD students and other new researchers are particularly invited. On request, students attending all four modules will receive a recommendation for 1 ECTS credit point. More details incl. dates, venues and online registration can be found here.
