Researchers in Switzerland are expected to increasingly prioritize open access publication. However, between changing publisher agreements, increasing APC charges, and publishing quotas at journals running out, navigating the open access landscape can be a real challenge.
In his interview with the Digital Open Access Journal Blog, Lothar Nunnenmacher, head of Lib4RI, outlines the importance of diverse data sources, including DOAJ metadata, to help researchers navigate complex open access publishing options. He then highlights how Lib4RI uses this information the Lib4RI search tool to help researchers navigate the OA landscape, and highlights future goals for better highlighting Diamond Open Access journals in Europe.
