Access to all APS e-journals in 2015

In 2015 Lib4RI will be able again to provide full access to all e-journals of the American Physical Society (APS) for all affiliates of the four research institutes within the ETH domain. This is an important improvement regarding the last year. As reported in detail on the 6th of March, we had to cancel most of our APS subscriptions for 2014 due to inacceptable price increases for the APS content.

Meanwhile, we have received a fair offer from APS for the 2015 subscription period. As one of the last publishers they finally accepted the merger of the libraries of the four research institutes and charge us as one entity. This resulted in a price that is adequate to the highly valued content and its strong usage at our institutes. All in all, we found a reasonable and sustainable solution with APS for the next years.

We would like to thank all researchers for their patience with the reduced offer of APS content in 2014 and we highly appreciate their understanding of this situation. We also thank the steering committee of the library and the directorates of the research institutes for their support. Last, but not least, thanks goes to the library team and especially the document delivery team, who did its best to compensate for the reduced offer of APS content in 2014.
