SciFinder provides researchers access to the Chemical Abstract Service (CAS) and its digital research environment to search, retrieve, analyse and link chemical information. Special features allow users to search for information by topics or drawing chemical structures or substructures, or by reaction, polymer and specific biosequence. Curated by expert scientists, SciFinder is based on a broad international collection of journals, patents and other sources.

Workshop Description

Best Practice (10:00 – 12:00, please register)

• Effectively use SciFinder to search the chemical literature incl. biochemistry and material sciences, organic, inorganic, physical and analytical chemistry.
• Find patents (incl. Markush structures) and non-English literature often not covered by other databases.
• Substance & reaction searching.
• Tips and tricks for working with large answer sets.
• SciFinder’s categorize tools.
• Export experimental and predicted property information to Excel and other applications.
• View experimental procedures directly within SciFinder.
