Dr. Jochen Bihn, Laura Tobler & Dr. Lothar Nunnenmacher, 05. February 2013

The new year brings several new, expanded, and updated e-book collections for all members of Eawag, Empa, PSI, and WSL.

New e-book collections:

• Nearly 5,000 science and engineering e-books from Cambridge University Press.
• Chemical science e-books from the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC).
Safari Books Online offers e-books in computer science and information technology. The collection features over 17,000 titles from various publishers, e.g. O’Reilly Media, Cisco Press, and Adobe Press.
• The entire collection of CABI e-books (agriculture and environmental sciences).
• All e-books published by the International Water Association (IWA).
• The Hanser eLibrary offers many e-books for engineers and technicians. Available are all titles published in 2011 and 2012.
• All e-books from De Gruyter, including many textbooks, and titles in German.

Expanded & updated e-books collections:

• Our subscriptions to e-book collections from CRC Press, Elsevier, Knovel, Springer, and OECD have been updated to include all newly published books in 2013.
• The e-book package SCI-TECHnetBASE from CRC Press features the entire line of science and technical books. Our license now includes more e-books in the subject collections chemistry, engineering, and statistics.
• The licensed e-book collections from Elsevier have been expanded to include more than 3,000 e-books from the «Legacy Collection». These books from the mid-20th century to the present were originally published in print, recently digitized, and are now made available as e-books.
• More e-books in the subject area «Energy»: New are all e-books in the «Energy» collection from Springer and the collection «Sustainable Energy & Development» from Knovel.
• In addition to SPIE Proceedings, we now also offer access to a collection of 160+ optics and photonics e-book titles from SPIE.

Did you know?
The NEBIS catalogue does not only hold records for all printed books but also for books that have been licensed in an electronic version. The tab «Online Resource» of a book record in NEBIS tells you if an electronic version of the book is available and – usually – provides a link to the e-book.

Alternatively, you can find e-books on the platforms of e-book providers. We have compiled a list of links to all our e-book providers on our website (Resources > Books > E-Books).

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you encounter access problems or have any other questions about using our electronic resources. We would be pleased to provide you with advice and assistance.
